Assistant Professor of Sociology

Algoma University invites applications for a three-year contractually-limited term appointment in Sociology at the rank of Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology, at its Sault Ste. Marie campus, commencing on January 1, 2024 or as negotiated. Ideal Candidate

As the ideal candidate, you hold a completed PhD in Sociology and have a demonstrated commitment to undergraduate teaching and research. You have teaching and/or research expertise in areas of critical sociology with a focus on Indigenous knowledge and/or the current conversations on decolonization. The ideal candidate should demonstrate a relevant academic background in these areas, have a record of teaching excellence, and a cross cultural and community engaged approach. A candidate with capacities in areas of Health, Wellness and Addictions, indigenous methodologies, with a critical view of statistics, and experience with remote/online/hybrid instruction is desirable.
